This article is for people who believe that Christianity may have
the answers to society's problems. Western society was based on Christian
principles and ethics and many of us feel that a return to these principles
will result in a much better and fairer society.
Other religions may also have principles to contribute.
What part does God play in the restoration of the nations?
Is He active in the world today? Yes, of course He is. The
whole of Christianity depends on God as creator, Jesus as saviour and the
3 people of God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) being involved in the course
of human life.
If you are considering Christianity as a faith and a guidance for
morals please do not get hung up on that red herring of Evolution.
Some people think that if plants and animals evolved from previous species
then there can be no God!
Look at it this way. The present motor car evolved in design
from previous designs. Designers did not start with a clean drawing
board. They took into account previous designs and built
on them. When God designed plants and animals surely He could have
done the same thing and the result is that each plant or animal can be
traced back to the previous one. In the beginning there was God.
He created and designed. He holds things together so that the earth
and people comply broadly with His wishes but with free will to make their
own decisions.
Developed nations were based on Christian laws and ethics
Before the deteoration of the Western nations in their laws and
ethics and behaviour, it was clear that the successful nations economically
were the nations brought up on Protestant Christianity. Mainly the
nations that took their way of life from Great Britain such as the UK itself,
and USA and the other so called Western nations were the nations that led
the world in technical and commercial development. If you like they
were the 'successful' nations. Whilst other nations had their laws
and ethics they were behind in technology, mechanisation, social fairness
and human rights.
Weber-Tawney Thesis
This was demonstrated in the Weber-Tawney Thesis. This is
a way of comparing the religion (or none) predominating during the main period of
economic growth of the country with the national income per head.
The top 9 countries out of 34 were all Protestant. I know I said that Statisitcs can be used to prove anything! But if you use your common sense you will see that this is true.
Churchill & 10 Commandments

right ot make decisions subject to the law of the land and the Ten Commandments'.

Churchill & Christian Civilisation

Laws
against 10 Commandments
Many laws have been passed against the 10 Commandments, especially
in the past 50 years. In fact laws have been passed against every
one of the 10 commandments! No wonder society is degenerating.
Government passes laws against the 10 Commandments. Book Britain
in Sin. ref 7-3
Lord Ashbourne states that with the laws passed in last 50 years
it would be a miracle if we were not in decline. Book Britain in
Sin, back.
